Film & TV: Intimacy Coordinator

 Tanille brings her experience as a director, intimacy coach, and sexual health educator to set for supporting cast and crew through intimate scenes. With the #MeToo movement erupting, she also believes in creating safer spaces where people can be empowered on set & screen for intimate scenes.

WHAT DOES TANILLE DO AS AN INTIMACY COORDINATOR?

• Tanille will implement and support proper protocols for scenes containing intimacy, simulated sex, nudity or high emotional content.

• Tanille will be a liaison between production and actors for the specific scene(s).

• Tanille can provide movement choreography for scenes with intimacy, simulated sex, and/or nudity.

• Tanille will advocate for actors.

WHEN SHOULD I HIRE TANILE AS AN INTIMACY COORDINATOR?

• Whenever a rider is needed in a scene (simulated sex or nudity rider).

• Whenever a power dynamic is involved in an intimate scene.

• Whenever minors are participating in intense emotional scenes, or nudity, or intimate scenes.

• If an actor feels they need support with sensitive material.

• If a director feels they need support communicating sensitive material to actors.

• If production would like to make a safer onset environment for the actors through the establishment of protocols surrounding simulated sex and nudity.

WHAT DOES TANILLE NEED TO DO HER JOB WELL?

• Either a planned telephone or in-person meeting with actors separately before rehearsal and filming of scene.

• Viewing of Intimacy Riders.

• Script for scene & script(s) for context of scene.

• Chat with Director and/or Producer understanding vision of scene, and to explain ways Tanille can support production.

• 2 hr Rehearsal sometime before filming.
